Notes and Comments
I thought GWS was past the hump. I thought they were getting healthier. I thought they were playing better. And yet they lost to St. Kilda. That’s Not Great, Bob!
Adelaide continued their fine form with a big win over the Western Doggies in Melbourne. They are back in the Top Six and, if they keep playing this way, will likely crack the Top Four and get a Double Chance.
Fremantle did not lose. Again. Granted, they didn’t play, but no team save the Crows looks like it could challenge them. The Cats got a big win and could raise their hands up. They will get their chance next week in what will be the Match Of The Round!
The North Melbourne v West Coast game went right down to the wire. Surprisingly, so did the Port Adelaide v Sydney game. The Swans and Roos hung on for dear life. Against better competition, the results might have been different.
Finally, Brisbane and Melbourne feasted on the two worst teams in the comp. As they should. The season can’t end fast enough for Essendon and Richmond.
The top three in the Tipping Contest remained the same but Litre made up some ground on Yeah Right and Sharky. Spam extended his lead to 3 as he got joint top score. Don’t forget to put the tips in!
If you are a member of an AFL club or you got a Watch AFL membership, you should be able to watch every AFL and AFLW game, including replays. Game times vary between Australian afternoon and evening, which actually makes it easier for us in North America to watch as the games can be seeing in the evenings on Pacific Time and early mornings on Eastern time.
If you haven’t become a member of a club or signed up for the Watch AFL app, you can still watch the AFL and AFLW games in the USA on either FS1 or FS2 and in Canada on TSN. Showtimes can be found here on the Australian Football Association of North America website. But I do recommend that you join a club. It’s fun and they send you free shit.
See you next week!
