TGISF…aka “Conference Championship” Sexy Friday Open Thread

Ah yes….Conference Championship Sunday.

If I’m being honest…historically speaking at least…I’ve always preferred Conference Champs Sunday (CCS) to Superb Owl Sunday (SBS).  The reasons are simple…

• SBS – 1 game : CCS – 2 games
• SBS – Too many ppl at party more interested in commercials than football : CCS – Zero Douches
• SBS – Game usually sucks* : CCS – Games usually competitive**

*Less true recently.

**Who the hell knows given this year’s playoffs thus far?

Anyway, the reasons don’t matter.  As far as NFL playoff football, Conference Championship Sunday has always been my favorite day of the season.

I like this song.

A handful of years ago, I was night-stalked by a trio of coyotes while night hiking thru my golf course in Gilbert, Arizona while listening to this song.  That was an interesting night.  Coyotes have no concept of golf etiquette….just saying.  Seriously…they wanted to eat me.  But I won.  Don’t ask how…there might have been projectiles and perhaps firearms involved.

What????  I said MIGHT HAVE BEEN!!!!!

Non “Conference Championship” Sports

The NHL is rolling now.  But holy crap…..did you see this?  Sheesh, what a game.  That’s what I get for talking junk about the Pens last week I guess.  Six….count ’em….SIX 2nd period goals allowed after jumping out to a 3-0 lead.  WTG Caps.  Thanks.  (also I may or may not have made up some new profanity during that game…shut up WCS!!!!)

Friday NHL Schedule

NBA is beginning to find shape.  And would you look at Golden State?  I mean we all knew they were one of the favs in the Pacific, but they’ve been steady throughout and are currently looking to pull away.  Atlanta is also still hanging in in the East.  And check out Boston, too.

College Basketball is still annoying even though Duke Sucks.  NC State finally broke their heinous losing streak, btw.  Thank god….I was seeking more vodka and razor blades than could be manufactured.

Maybe.  But the off season doth quickly approach.  If I’m going to utilize the NFL/Cheerleader angle, time is short.  There will also be a tangentially similar theme in two weeks for Superb Owl.  Ah, and then the off season.
