NFL News:

  • The League & the union are discussing shortening the preseason.
    • They would drop from four games to two – keeping Weeks 3 & 4 but dropping weeks 1 & 2.
      • The thinking is that it would give teams more time to adjust to the COVID training reality, giving players more time to “ramp up” to the rigors of the regular season.
    • Under the newly ratified CBA, players now report to camp 47 days before their Week 1 opener.
      • For 30 teams, that is July 28.
      • For the Thursday Night opener, the Chiefs & Texans, that’s July 25th.

Just another reminder: hair stylists, barbers, cutters, manicurists, estheticians, etc. are all independent contractors. They weren’t eligible for unemployment insurance and even when the CARES Act allowed for compensation for ICs, they didn’t get to apply until the end of April in almost all states. If they got anything, because, well, it’s complicated. Point is that you better tip the fuck out of whomever cuts your hair.
