The last two weeks have been… eventful. Understandably, most of the discussion has centered around the election and politics. However, that’s not my favourite topic.
As a matter of fact, if it was up to me, we wouldn’t even discuss politics or religion on this site, as the old adage says. However, as I also pointed out in these pages, the beautiful thing about this site is that we do not control or have rules about content.
Anything goes.
The only that doesn’t go is personal attacks. We will intervene when one commentist attacks another. We treat everyone that comes here as mature adults and we expect arguments or disputes to be handled civilly.
I should also mention that full-frontal nudity is, for some reason, also not allowed. Don’t blame me, I voted for Kodos.
All of this preamble is to tell you that the reason that we didn’t have an Eventual Balls Thoughts post last week and the reason why this one is different is that the usual funny took a back seat to political discussion. So, I don’t have much to showcase. Mind you, there was still some hilarious commentary, but I just don’t have the energy to go through all that political stuff to find it.
Instead, I will serve up some discussion points for y’all to discuss in the comments as there are no other posts scheduled for today and y’all seem to enjoy Open Threads.

With Week 9 of the NFL season completed after last night’s game, here are , in no particular order, the teams that I consider the best in each conference and that have a shot to go far in the playoffs if things break their way:
AFC
- Kansas City Chiefs
- Pittsburgh Steelers
- Baltimore Ravens
- Tennessee Titans
- Buffalo Bills
NFC
- Seattle Seahawks
- New Orleans Saints
- Arizona Cardinals
- Green Bay Packers
Yes, I omitted a bunch of teams that have a chance to and WILL make the playoffs but there was really no need to list them. Your Super Bowl winner is going to be one of the nine teams listed above

Did anyone watch the Notre Dame-Clemson game on Saturday night? I would be shocked, SHOCKED I TELL YOU if there isn’t a major COVID outbreak in South Bend in the next two weeks. Then again, COVID is probably the least risky disease one can pick up at Notre Dame.

As a public service, please note that if you decide to move to work remotely from a warm location other than your state of residence, there are tax implications as your income might be subject to taxation from the place you are now living in.
This should be fairly obvious to anyone that has ever filed their own taxes instead of hiring a professional, but many people don’t know this and could be in for a nasty surprise come tax time.

Having spoken with some scientists and pandemic specialists for work recently, I am heartened to hear that there is progress among many fronts on the fight against COVID-19. Just yesterday, Pfizer announced that their vaccine is 90% effective. However, there are some things to keep in mind.
This virus, like the flu virus, can and has already mutated into different strains. The vaccines being tested are effective against a particular strain of the virus. Typically, the “flu shot” that is offered each year is the vaccine that counteracts the flu virus expected to be most prevalent during each flu season. This means that one can catch the flu even though they got the shot. They just caught a different strain that was not as prevalent.
The scientists tell me that the COVID vaccines will work in the same way. There is one particular strain that is the most contagious and that’s the one they are attacking the hardest. That’s the one that will most likely be released to the general public first. However, that does not mean that the battle against COVID has been won.
There will be many people that, like the flu shot, refuse to get the COVID shot. There will also be people that will get sick from COVID and may die from it even though they got the shot.
On the bright side, a lot of progress is being made on the treatment front. Medicines to manage the symptoms and consequences of contracting COVID are being developed and trialed across the globe. We are already seeing evidence of this progress as death rates have continued to fall even as cases continue to climb.
All of this is to say that while we are not out of the woods yet and we still have to follow protocols and closures in order to not overwhelm the medical system, we are getting closer to resuming many of the activities we have not been able to enjoy.

Who did Tom Jackson piss off? At first, he was brought back along with Chris Berman to revive NFL Primetime and now he’s been replaced by Booger McFarlane. Someone with inside access please let me know because I know there’s got to be some reason he’s not at ESPN anymore.

We used to love and quote Archer around here a lot, but that has apparently gone away. I know a lot of you didn’t care for the “coma seasons”, but this last season brought things back to the way they used to be.
I don’t know about you all, but I watched every episode and really enjoyed the season. They’ve done a really good job of tying everything together and have laid out a good path for the story to continue going forward. While it was thought that the show would get cancelled after this season, it was actually renewed for Season 12 a few weeks ago. If it is as good as this season, I see no reason why it can’t continue.
FWIW, I loved the Dreamland and Pacific Island seasons. I never really got into the Space season (Season 10), but I’m rewatching it now and my opinion may change.

I know that Domino’s Pizza has gotten a bad rap, but I tried it recently and I was very impressed. The Philly Cheesesteak pizza has no right to be good, but it is amazing. In the same vein, the Cheeseburger pizza sounds like it might be an abortion served on warm bread, but it is also delicious. It really tastes like a cheeseburger!
You can call me the TWBS of food (TWBS:music::Balls:food) because of the paragraph above and the fact that I love Taco Bell. I understand.
I’m just saying that you might be pleasantly surprised.
BTW, have you tried the new Grilled Cheese Burritos and Toasted Cheddar Chalupas at Taco Bell?!? SO GOOD!!

Am I the only one that gets upset when the Stepmom gets “trapped” in an easily escapable situation? I mean, hand in the garbage disposal? I could see that. Upper torso stuck underneath the bed? It’s been known to happen! Trick glue on the countertop? Potentially painful, but yeah, that shit can easily happen.
However, you get your hand stuck in the sofa cushions and you can’t get free? STEPMOM PLEASE!
I’d like a little realism in my faux incest porn, s’il vous plait! Is that too much to ask for?

Thank you to everyone one for providing quality laughs and gifs/pics to look at. Have a good week, everyone!
