Well, college of football is all done. And we’re entering the home stretch of the NFL season. According to a gluten-free flan chart I just made up, after this coming weekend (some number less than) 24 games remain. That’s not a lot of games. Remember when you were crying/celebrating/masturbating/saying ‘meh’/dead drunk back in week six? You can never have that back-until week six next year. Truth IED’s hurt, don’t they? There are other things going on though. For those commenters in the US, you could watch your country implode in slow motion (the news). Perhaps a re-viewing of The Big Bazinga Report is worthy of your attention (the eye candy have nice boobies you know). I’ll be flipping back and forth amongst all the sporty stuff. Here’s what you may want to allow into (onto) your lenses…
In the NBA, CLE/DAL would seem to be the highlighted game but IND, SA, CHI, OKC and a shit-ton of lousy teams are also playing. The ice warrior league has Preds/Hawks and Pens/Canes as their featured games but NYI, StL, MIN and defending champs CHI are also in play. College ball features two matches between ranked teams-#1KU visits #11 Track Pants U and #8 MIA faces down #13 UVA. Other ranked teams playing include XAV, TAMU, UK, PROV (Providence?, really?) ISU and MD. Bring that thing that you bring, commenters.
Somehow, this hadn’t been posted yet, either. WE BE SLACKIN.
Tbh this should have been picked up in the early rounds too

So much good, but that one is one of my favorites.
The Jean Genie and TTVC 15, too, well too many good ones.
I stuttered.

A minute late but same thought. Good man
I think the L.A. Coliseum is an awesome stadium. It’s hosted two Olympics and two Superbowls! I saw USC play UNLV and Stanford there. (Please nore: I did not attend USC)
How did I forget to mention this one for so long? Love it

My turn:
I completely forgot this song existed. Thank you.
Probably my favorite Bowie album.
I bitched about theaters enough below. Back to Bowie
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Tgcc5V9Hu3g
I will never be a fan of them but I will see some games.
First things fucking first get rid of those current abortions you call a uniform and bring back the blue and yellow fer chrise sake!

I have an employee at work who is a big Dolphins fan and he had no intention of going to any of the games, especially at the shit hole Coliseum. Then I showed him the list of Dolphins away games for next year and Miami is scheduled to play the Rams.
He said, “Fuck that I’m going. You want to go? I’ll get the seats!”
Ahh principles.
Bring back the blue & white! Roman Gabriel on line two, Mr. Kroenke!
Mr Gabriel has chosen to forget his time as a Ram.
I’m sure I can find a Gabriel fumble pick too.
“How could he quarterback with such tiny hands?”

Well it appears that Obama has doomed us all and he is sending the New Black Panther Party to grab our daughters.
At least that is what Fox News is saying about his State of the Union Address.
So they just reran the “analysis” of the other Obama SotUs?
I said this to a coworker today…how the fuck is Bowie dead but Don Imus still alive?
When I think about this I get really…REALLY angry. And who the fuck listens to that guy?
I was stunned by the lack of Bowie tribute on local radio. A few scattered songs. Whoopee. Michael Jackson had two stations going all day. There’s a daily block of Floyd…FUCK FLOYD.
NPR had some good stuff yesterday.
Hey hey hey, let’s not say anything we might regret about teh Floyd.

The soundtrack to Guardians of the Galaxy has to be like 30% of the reason it was so successful.
I would go way higher on that percentage. Perfect soundtrack with every song written into the script
Its HILARIOUS how much better Marvel is at making their films compared to DC.
A fucking tree, racoon, and a wrestler were more interesting characters than anything out of DC.
(Sorry but I cannot stand Bale’s raspy Batman’s voice and this upcoming Superman vs Batman movie looks like an utter pile of shit…though oddly I am very interested in Suicide Squad).
I agree mostly, but I just saw Ant-Man and wow, total formula. Even Star Wars and Jurassic World didn’t feel as rehashed and cliched.
I know there has been a backlash after it’s success but I fucking love the new Star Wars. Yes, it stole shit from A New Hope if you look for it, but wtf, the prequels were absolute shit because they tried to be something the series isn’t. I have it downloaded, watched it at least 6 times
Watched it in a theater first just for the record. I hated the people there, and not being able to pause, also I don’t like being stuck in the theater. They should just let you buy the Bluray/DVD right away
Oh, also the one good screen of any theater in the area. The “Ultrascreen” (only big screen theater in the area) redesigned the theater, 1/3 the seats so it now is always sold out and assigned seating. The seats are now leather and uncomfortable instead of just being uncomfortable. You do get your own 10″ armrest which would be good if you already didn’t have an armrest back when there was more seating
No no, I liked TFA a lot, and for many of the same reasons. I just worry that the success of something scripted so lazily will prompt Disney to do exactly what they did with Marvel, Pirates, and all of their reimagined fairytales…stick with the formula until the tread is showing.
Also Bowie. Underrated song, at least as much as anything off of Ziggy goddamn Stardust can be underrated.

[Please add Mean Girls meme of Amanda Seyfried on phone]
That was a great speech. Could have only been better if he ended it with God Bless The United States of America and Roger Goodell Is A National Disgrace!
I caught most of it and thought it was pretty good too. A bunch of things I support and agree with and feel strongly that they would make the US a better country that will never happen.
More Bowie. I think of the Puff Daddy song where he sampled this more than the original when I hear this
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N4d7Wp9kKjA
I hate myself for that but No Way Out was one of the main CD’s we listened to driving out in the country getting high in college because there was no safe place on campus
I think the NFL is transitioning, same as all major sporting events, on the same trajectory as the Olympics. The utterly insane costs of hosting major events like the World Cup and the Olympics is pushing the games until they are only hosted by the most corrupt governments in the world.
The same is true for major sports in America. Eventually only the most utterly insane, more money than common sense, utterly corrupt city governments will be willing to shell out the utterly disgusting amount of money required to keep giving these rich assholes more money.
And since its far easier to watch these events at home rather than making yourself miserable in seeing them live, eventually all the games will be held in the remains of New York City, once global warming have fully isolated it from the rest of the US, Snake Plissken style.
I, for one, welcome are apocalyptic future!
Eventually?
I started listening to some Bowie again just because. I know this technically is a Queen song. Don’t care

Programming alert: 9 o’clock Central tomorrow I’ll be asking for you lovely bunch of drunks to vote on my new team! Excitement! Intrigue! Votes for everyone but the Rams, Cardinals and Patriots! Come one, come all and pick me a new team!
http://41.media.tumblr.com/db279a20775ba30aad8340572aca440a/tumblr_mow2gxIg6G1qzx1e0o1_1280.jpg
WOOOOOOOOO!!!!
My backup teams are the Texans and the Bills. All-American color sets and no one within 500 miles of me gives a shit about them, except the one guy at work who likes the Bills, Braves, and Bulls (anyone care to guess when exactly he got into sports?)
Since moving to NM, a state with no major sports and a fanbase of 40% Cowboys, 40% Broncos, and the rest a mix of Steelers or “other”, I realize I can pick any team I damn well choose without geographical restraint.
Seriously- just pick the Bills. It’s a small market whose team was in danger of being bought by either Donald Fuckface Trump or Puppet Bon Jovi, and was saved by an owner with actual local ties. It’s what should have happened in St. Louis after Georgia kicked it, and you have a chance to root for the happy ending. Also: RYAN BROTHERS MUTHAFUCKERS!
The Bronco/Jet/Stiller contingents are going to stuff the ballot box. Fuck those guys- they don’t need any more fans.
Well, the Raiders got fucked by the league again.
Qu’elle surprise!
I think some of the old-line owners still blame Al Davis for litigating last time.
And I think some of the new owners have a (admittedly reasonable) reservation about allowing Bowl Cut to even partially control such a potentially lucrative area.
Kroenke just doubled his franchise’s value. Couldn’t have happened to a nicer guy who invested a fortune that he married into to make his fortune.
Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaannnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnd fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuucccccccck
It’s been pointed out that the NFL is announcing this opposite the State of the Union address.
So, either they want to bury the news when people are paying attention to something else, or they think they’re as important as the nation itself.
Either way, fuck ’em.
I just assume they didn’t even think about it. Which actually makes me ok with it
I’m only gonna say this once: the México, D.F. Raiders, and the Paris, Texans.
⬇️?
Mark Davis could establish his own mini-narco state. I’m on board with this.
It’d be like having Niners fans over eight times per season, but with less stabbings.
Mexicans will call Mark “Cuencorosa.”
Where are the Chargers going to play in 2016 if they have until January 2017 to play in the LA Rams’ stadium?
send ’em to Paraguay. They like low scoring, fast kicking action!
Too good, too good.
King Laserface would like all the Catholicism, too!
HUH? WHAT! FUCK YOU! SPEAK ENGLISH YOU NATIVE COCKWALLETS LIKE WE DO IN THE ONLY COUNTRY THAT MATTERS, THE US OF A!
That’ll do it. IT’S A GREAT NIGHT TO BE A MOUNTAINEER WHEREVER YOU MAY BE
You’re dead to me, Rams.
–God, the day Kurt Warner was released.
So I have conflicted feelings on the rams.
Like I really don’t care but I know I should. Similar to just waltzing buy the salvation army guy when I know I have 3 pennies in my pocket that’ll never see the light of day again.
So…where the fuck are the Rams and Chargers going to play?
I mean…it will take a couple of years to build that stadium. Please tell me the plan is to keep the teams in their current stadiums until the new one is built…because that would be AWESOME!!!
http://images.complex.com/complex/image/upload/t_article_image/appud5uqggbomsyguvly.jpg
Houston’s last season was fun!
LONDON??
The Rams will play at The Coliseum and, if the Chargers can convince USC to lift the restriction on multiple NFL teams playing there, the Chargers.
But really, send them to London a couple times.
I’m pretty sure the Rams agreed to at least one London game per season during the construction phase.
The Rams will play at the Coliseum. The crooked cock fondlers of the Coliseum Commission made sure of that. If the Chargers decide to move they may still play at the Murph until the stadium opens in 2019.
That’s pretty damn creepy.
I don’t give a fuck, but the only three cities that I can think of off hand that did’nt happily steal a franchise were NYC(METS), Minny(Wild), and Cleveland.
You fucking Baltomorons, took on the Browns and don’t even accept that you stole them from Cleveland.
My Willie Mays loving Dad would have never accepted another team.
I’m sorry JJ. You’re cool; but Gotdamn
I may drunk, no I am drunk, so grammar doesn’t stand. But, all you assholes that stole a franchise. I want to chose between the Giants and Dodgers.
Oh come on now. You honestly think it doesn’t burn our fucking crawl that the city had to steal a shitty owner from Cleveland???
It would have never have happened if the NFL didn’t decide to put a THIRD poorly supported NFL franchise in fucking Miami.
Derp…I meant Florida.
Jacksonville really started this. They were supposed to be the St. Louis Stallions, and the amazing “civic leaders” in STL muddied the stadium waters so badly that the NFL changed their minds at the last minute and went to Jax instead.
Toronto! Expenses in CDN; salaries in USD!
Just made some nachos with chicken. so good.
A couch or two dozen may be torched in Morganhole tonight.
Things are gettin’ antsy in the WCS living room/kitchen area. 60-49 Tracksuits with 4:42 left.
VOMIT ALERT
YOU COUSINFUCKERS GOT THIS THING. CAN SEE IT IN THEIR DEAD JAYHAWKER EYES.

If’n there’s anything a Wolfpacker knows, it’s the look in the eyes of a truly beaten side.
Rams for sho.
Possible on Chargers.
http://www.latimes.com/sports/nfl/la-sp-nfl-los-angeles-owners-meeting-htmlstory.html
Are we Rams fans now/again? Better drink on it.
Drinking is the answer.
I was never a Rams or Raiders fan when they were here.
I was too busy traumatizing myself while being a Vikings fan.
/shudders
I got in the car Monday morning and literally the first thing I heard was a Bowie song. On ESPN radio. That’s NEVER a good sign. Once that shitty, shitty news was confirmed, it was just a bad day and the week hasn’t improved much.
Until now. Just had my first ever Magic Hat #9. Damn that’s a beer.

Is that Jose Jimenez?
This tilt reminds me of an old rough and tumble Big East game. Last man standing wins!
I can’t recall the last time I read a book from cover to cover in one sitting (maybe Invisible Cities by Calvino?) but I did so with Death And The Penguin just the other night. The spare writing style paired with an engaging narrative that had no discernible way of resolving itself drew me in and wouldn’t let me go.
/anyone been blown away by a book recently?
Probably the Death of Sweet Mister by Woodrell. I think it took a second sitting but it was goddamn amazing.
Tomato Red was also quite awesome.
Das Reboot, about the remaking of German soccer from 1990. Two days; the family was thrilled.
Nowhere near recently, but Night is one of two books I’ve read in one sitting. I started it at about 8 in the evening, never put it down. I was 17, I’ve never read anything so terrifying in my life.
The other book I read in one sitting was 8 Men Out. But I just assume that’s because I’m one of those Based Ball preverts.
I changed my mind from my mocking tone before. If I can find Hawks stream I am gonna live comment it. Hooking up the wireless receiver seems like too much work but that may have to happen if I can’t get a stream
I misread and thought it was the Wild vs the Hawks at first. Nashville isn’t any better as a potential matchup. I do like that even though I have been a bad Hawks fan and barely watching the last month they are continuing their rise in the rankings (which mean exactly nothing once the playoffs start. Love a sport when the 8th seed has won a cup in the last 5 years)
NFL LA Committee: We recommend Carson.
NFL Owners: Thanks for your input. We vote Inglewood.
Greater Los Angeles area residents: Oh good, football – can’t wait to go to a LOOK A SQUIRREL.
Our boy Sam Farmer says the next “last” vote is happening in the next few minutes. He says it’s Rams/Chargers in Inglewood with the knife.
Always the knife in Inglewood.
I’ll bet Spanos led old Bowl Cut Davis on with their partnership and is now going to do an end around on the secret ballot just to fuck the poor bastard over.
Straight from the Pierre Trudeau handbook!
What does Doonesbury have to do with it?
Yeah but will Spanos’ wife spend her her time at 54 and sleep with the Stones.
Battlefrog across America? More like across California and slightly into Arizona for a brief period.
Looks like this NFL to Los Angeles thing is going to happen. So, what city will owners try to scare taxpayers with now? London? San Antonio?
Considering that St. Louis was willing to reach pretty deep into the public coffers to pay for a stadium, I’d say St. Louis.
My adopted home town as a threat? Not unless you are a young black man.

Maybe it’s the flu meds, but Exodus colon Gods and Kings is great! God’s a dick, Moses a terrorist with an identity crisis, and Aaron Paul guests stars as–wait for it–Aaron. Ramses is an effete douche and the plagues are…
Sorry; should have warned about spoilers.
I despised Huggins’ teams at Cincy but don’t mind them at West Virginny. Perhaps his beer belly is growing on me?

I was thinking that if Kate Upton had to make a dessert for a get-together, this would be the end result.
That big one must have at least twelve yolks. Barf.
From deadspin:
…sport organized around violent collisions between armored superhumans…
Eight words. Sixty-three letters. That’s an average of almost eight letters per word with no single word shorter than five. THAT is pontificating, folks.
/not that I disagree. But damn, man.
I figured that was from the PK takedown.
I don’t consider most Gawker writers to be all that interesting (a lot of them seem to love the sound of their own opinions and have a higher opinion of what they do than they deserve) but I almost always stop to read a Burnenko piece. I like the way the man turns a phrase and finds a new way to say “fuck you” every time.
Hmm. As a reader, I value brevity and clarity over most other attributes. On the other hand, I’ve been called a dick way too many times these last 12 days.
Whatever, dick.
Usually, I do too. But some people can pull off verbose and remain focused and to me Burneko is one of them.
When he was just a commenter on deadspin, Burneko (can’t remember his handle) and myself and a few others would have a riot on DUAN. Kinda miss those days…
