If it’s any consolation, of the nazi bigs, Goering was the least evil. In fact his main role was to give the buffoons and weasels legitimacy. He’d led the flying circus after the Red Baron’s death and represented the Junker warrior elite that largely rejected Hitler. Goering’s role was primarily with the Luftwaffe and he pretty much avoided Final Solution meetings. By the end he was a drunken, drug addled mess who was complicit in all of the evil but not a driving force. In defense of the old guy on your tv box, Goering’s minders weren’t necessarily up on all the true horrors of the Holocaust, and most found Goering to be genial and instead of being a murderous syncophant, he was more of a regular military sort. In fact they made sure he had access to the morphine he was addicted to while imprisoned and made it possible for him to OD before he was executed.

I don’t know if anyone else is freaking out about Sessions getting the axe and a Trump crony (well, MORE of a Trump crony) being put in his place, but I’m not. It was going to happen eventually. The fact that it happened less than 24 hours after Republicans lost control of the House shows that it’s coming from a place of panic and frustration, which is certainly better than it coming from a position of strength. Beyond that, Sessions is a slimy piece of shit and will be fully invested in covering his own ass at this point, so any vestige of loyalty he felt towards Trump will be out the window. Cohen and Manafort tried to stand firm and protect Trump, and it ruined them. I doubt any of Trump’s insiders didn’t take notice of that.
