- Bruce Irvin, freed from the Raiders, has decided to play for the Falcons.
- Irvin was born & raised in the Atlanta area. Having played for Dan Quinn in Seattle was also an attraction.
- “This was a dream [come] true,” Irvin told ESPN’s Vaughn McClure. “The Patriots and Steelers offered more money, but being able to play for my city and my people, you just can’t put a price on that.”
- Also a dream: he gets his full Raiders salary for 2018, plus a pro-rated contract from the Falcons, earning him over $9.5 million for this season.

- Former Colt Anthony Gonzalez won election in Ohio’s 16th District as a Republican.
- Former Titan Colin Allred won election in Texas’ 32nd District as a Democrat.
- Former Raider/Chief/Viking Napoleon Harris won a seat in the Illinois State Senate running unopposed as a Democrat.
- Former Packer/[Redacted] Clint Didier won the Franklin County, Washington, Commissioner’s race as a Republican.
- Florida voted on a state constitutional amendment (Amendment 3) that requires any statewide gambling expansion to garner 60% support. It passed thanks to support from Disney & the Seminole Tribe.
- It was opposed by all three Florida NFL teams, with the Dolphins openly campaigning against it.
- The loss of a potential revenue stream is speculated to be another linchpin to Shad Khan moving the Jags to London.
