Your “Isn’t Autumn Wonderful?” Friday Evening Open Thread

Well, it IS Autumn in Australia.  One of the only nations which still has enough cojones to still play sports.  Don’t get me wrong though.  They’re taking precautions.

But they’re playing.  At least so far.

As most of you know I’ve been filling in foar the lovely and talented Balls Of Steel and Fury  this season on the AFL Beat.  I mean if he’s going to be a lazy fuck and not do his job then someone has to.

Which brings up an aside…

California is going down.  I always thought it would eventually just kinda slide off the San Andreas fault into the Pacific Ocean.  And I kinda wanted to be there to see that and go down with it.  No, no, not go down like that.  Ummmm…. well let’s not rule anything out.

However…  I don’t like seeing things go like they have been.  Be it in California or anywhere else.  But life happens and we deal with it.  Having an emotional escape is helpful.  For most of us here we do it with sports.  We all like different sports, different teams, and we give each other shit about it.  Daily.

But we’ve kinda lost that for now.  I mean we still give each other good-natured shit.  But losing the temporary escape of sporting events kinda sucks.

SO GO WATCH THE AUSSIE RULES FOOTBALL!!!!!

The AFL Women are ramping up to their Premiership Playoffs.  The AFL Men get started on the regular season this weekend.

Shit.  That means Imma have to write a lotta shit the next coupla weeks I guess.  DAMMIT BALLS!!!!!!

But seriously, it is the beginning of Autumn in Australia.  And everyone should have footbawl at the beginning of Autumn.  They get that down under.  We’ll see what happens in six months in the northern hemisphere.

I really do want to see Tom Brady behind Tampa Bay’s offensive line, by the way.  I’m already giggling.
