It’s the third day of a (Canadian) four-day weekend. So, did I get to go drinking?
Did I get to kick up my feet & watch movies?
Did I at least get to go hiking with the dogs?
We have been “cleaning” all weekend.
Some contractors came in to remove the popcorn ceiling from our TV room this week, and boy-howdy, that’s a lot of dust.
It all started with a pipe leak in the wall. It was just one pinhole leak in a copper pipe, but said pipe was at least 50 years old, so it made sense to open up the wall and replace them all. Since we were having a contractor come in, WineWife saw the opportunity to get the work she really wanted done, done. For some reason, she hates the popcorn effect on ceilings. (I think you might know how many shits I give in this situation.) But with someone already coming in to rip open a wall, it wasn’t too big a leap to get the roof sanded down as well. Oh, and since the roof is being worked on, why not remove the old 1970s overhead lights & install some new pot lights (non-Seamus variety) as well?
All that work finished on Friday. I suppose there were better ways to spend a holiday Sunday, but during a semi-lockdown most bars have been closed, there aren’t many other viable dining options, and my interest in staying married is pronounced. So,
Because Monday is a holiday, we’ll be painting! going to look at tile. All the boredom of a museum with none of the renaissance nudity to keep my attention. This should go well.

I’ve pretty much completed my Oscar nominated film watching and I’ll have predictions eventually. The rough thing about seeing the films is you just know one or two of them are going to kick you in the nether regions. The Father did that today. Good film but it made me want to keep a stockpile of heavy drugs so I can back the fuck out of this life on my own terms.
A good film but a hard watch. Olivia Colman has a punchers chance at best supporting actress too.

My lab Bear had frito feet. It’s some kind of bacteria or something that gets in the pads of their feet and makes them smell like corn chips. Weird!

Just watched Godzilla vs. Kong. It’s dumb, but all of the earlier reboot ones are dumb too. Once the kaiju fights start, it’s entertaining. Just do your MST3K thing if someone in the movie is talking and you should be fine.
