In the past, I’ve written a preview post followed up by a post listing the winners. This year’s AVN Awards show kinda sneaked up on me. It was a virtual show due to COVID, so there was no gathering of the porn stars in Vegas.
Well, not any different than your typical weekend.
Before I get into the list, I have some thoughts:
- You’re going to see one particular movie listed A LOT. This happens some years when everyone raves about a particular film. That does not necessarily mean you will like it. I find that the AVN sometimes gets a little too fartsy in their artsy for their own good.
- Angela White loves a lot of things and she’s Australian.
- Tommy Pistol got a LOT of awards this year and got into the Hall of Fame. That’s pretty impressive.
- It’s really weird how they change the categories from year to year. As a purist, I think the categories need to remain relatively stable so that you can make comparisons between eras.
- My two favourite categories? Clever Title of the Year and Most Outrageous Sex Scene.

Do I need to watch Rack Focus 1 to be able to follow Rack Focus 2?
Traditionalists usually start with Rack Focus IV: A New Grope, and then go back and watch the others and bitch about the lousy CGI
Rack Focus is a tremendous filmmaking joke. Big time kudos to the person that came up with that title.
I can tell you that Choked and Soaked 5 is a standalone story. It’s got a lot of easter eggs you’ll recognize from the other films but they’re not integral to the plot or anything.
