Notes and Comments
Rikki’s Bombers fell to Hippo’s Blues, who have seemed to turn around their season. Both teams are on the top four and, if this were to remain the case at the end of the year, they would both get the Second Chance during Finals.
Geelong blew a large lead to the Swans in Sydney as the league leaders continued to show they are the best team in the AFL. On the bright side, they played well. On the not so bright side, they could not consolidate the win. Sydney was too good.
I think the biggest surprise of the week was Hawthorn beating the Giants in Tasmania. I have no idea how that happened, but I’m guessing injuries played a big part.
The byes finish next week with a lot of teams getting a break. There will only be six games played.
Congratulations to Dolph Ucker for getting five picks correct this week! Just like that, he’s back in contention. There is still a TIE at the top although it’s now Litre and Spam that are tied. Litre is still technically ahead by score differential.
If you haven’t become a member of a club or signed up for the Watch AFL app, you can still watch the games in the USA on either FS1 or FS2 and in Canada on TSN. Showtimes can be found here on the Australian Football Association of North America website.
Don’t forget to put the Footy Tips in!
See you next week!
One of the downsides of living in California, it seems they just randomly scatter sharp bits of metal all over the roads. Third flat tire from road debris since I moved here, so an average of once every 2 years. Drove all up and down the east coast for years and I think I can remember one easily patched flat
There’s a tire shop near me that fixed my flat for free with one of those plug things. I keep meaning to bring them a box of donuts as a thank-you.
Free metal?
Where?
-Ryan Leaf, climbing out of a cardboard box
That’s because you didn’t drive on the BQE!
Just got back from 2nd PT session. It seems to be working, with everything else hurting my lower back and knees aren’t bothering me as much!
Injuries, refereeing, shit midfield play, sloppy disposals, poor kicking.
You said you didn’t know what happened, I’m still cranky about it.
The Bears stank just follows you everywhere.
Is that your AFL team, or your local team?
Holy fuck it’s both
For a second I thought he might have been talking about scotchnaut.
Can anyone spare some money for bail?

If you think I believe anyone associated with this site is capable of doing a backflip…
starting a backflip – yes
landing a backflip – oh hell no
As a younger guy, I was prone to doing cheetah flips. But now I take things in with much more patience. So a shrug is about as athletic as I go.
‘We got a LOT of surprise AGAIN this week” is also how Mrs. Horatio told me we were having our second child.
Lowratio’s gonna have a littler brother???
Dear god no. This conversation was 23 years ago. I got fixed right after that.
“He means ‘fixed’ in a reproductive sense. There’s plenty that’s still wrong with him otherwise.” – Mrs. Cornblower
Nolo contendere on that one.
.
One of the classics.
saw my results for the week (2) and hoped that everyone else had a shit week at picking too, but expected to be in last after this week. My picks would have been better if I’d not picked at all, dammit.
Apparently I drank too much of the alcohol that I’ve been threating litre with.
Yes, “threatening.”
Offering Litre alcohol isn’t threatening. Now, Litre offering someone else a Big Turk? That’s an A felony that’s what that is.
I think litre likes those candy bars, so not sure that’s a threat either
Yes, the threat is to the other people, they just don’t know it.
and finally figured out how to change my name so it’s something more useful to DFO
Based on the scoreline, it looks like the Blues were kicking like Steph Curry had blessed their boots while the Bombers couldn’t hit the broad side of a barn.
Greatest West Virginian to pick up a basketball.

Zeke from Cabin Creek, RIP.
Hey, c’mon; I’m sure Bob picked up a basketball once in a (great) while.
Also the most recent literate West Virginian.
You’re telling me that Joe Manchin can’t read those checks from coal industry interests that he keeps checking?
