Monday Night Thread – Futbol and hockey extravaganza!

Evening,

No Warhammer tonight as we have a game 7 of the Stanley Cup plus soccer.  Can Florida win the cup for the first time in franchise history or will the Oilers be the first to come back from 0-3 to win the cup?  Let us watch and see, shall we?  Copa is still going rolling along with the first game at 6pm EST where Colombia will face Paraguay, whose death squads will be the winner!  Next at 9pm EST we have Brazil likely face planting Costa Rica’s players into the pitch.  If Costa Rica survives, I will be surprised.  I know nothing really about soccer but I do know that Brazil is perennially a powerhouse.  Not sure how, because if I was a Brazilian soccer player I would be tagging as much Brazilian booty as I could.

I hope everyone affected by the heat is working to keep cool and relax.  Oh, a nice little song for you:

Book Rec Time-

I’m more than halfway through City of Lost Chances. It’s billed as a fantasy thingy but that aspect doesn’t dominate the plot at all. There are tons of characters with competing agendas in a city that has been under the yoke of an oppressor nation for just three years. The omniscient narrator is a cheeky bastard at times as well.

Honestly seems like a good deal for them. They desperately needed goaltending, Ullmark was probably the best guy available, and a late first-rounder was not a bad price to pay. The Devils had to give up a better first-rounder for Markstrom, who’s not as good as Ullmark.

Sens still have their own first-rounder this year, and they’re supposed to be out of rebuilding mode anyway.
