Götterdammerung: Your Wednesday Night Postmortem Thread

Yeah, no Wumbo tonight. Barely a thread tonight. Who knows how long we have before we’re shut down for *checks notes* Sexy Friday?

Fortunately I got out of my gig early enough to avoid the news from last night’s event, but tonight might not be fun. Just three of us, keep the head down.

Here’s what’s been playing in my brain all morning:

Question of the night: What adverb do we put before “fucked”?

I could go on a diatribe about extended family members or family friends who voted, but I’m more worried and scared for people I know.

For my friend from high school, a Black trans woman living in Texas. From an Internet friend, a trans woman in Illinois. For some of our students. For Hermana Weaselo, who’s bi. For Senorita Weaselo, who’s Asian-American.

For the children that I’m less and less likely to want to have because of *points at world* all this shit.

It doesn’t help that the bill will come due for the reneging of student loan forgiveness, but at the end of the day I’m actually not up to my eyeballs there specifically like others—I’m about $12K left in the hole there. It doesn’t help that the price of groceries will skyrocket if millions of people will be deported, but I don’t eat in my apartment these days because I don’t actually live there, I live on the road and only sleep at Apartment Weaselo. Or at Senorita Weaselo’s. Tech would be an issue, I may want to update my phone for my birthday, and hopefully the lappy can last another four years (I got it March 2020, so… maybe?)

And that doesn’t even get into the foreign policy portion of things. People talking about wanting to end the wars, but my guess is only one war will end (the Ukraine-Russia one) on a silver platter, and/or it crashes all of Europe with it. Peace in our time…

Yeah, because peace in our time worked out so well the last time.

We’ve all talked about things earlier this morning, so I’m not gonna harp on too much. What’s on tonight? Who the fuck knows? Do we care?

Be good to each other. Try to be better to each other. Lord knows we should have people trying to be better.

Senor Weaselo
Senor Weaselo plays the violin. He tucks it right under his chin. When he isn't doing that, he enjoys watching his teams (Yankees, Jets, Knicks, and Rangers), trying to ingest enough capsaicin to make himself breathe fire (it hasn't happened yet), and scheming to acquire the Bryant Park zamboni.
