Shoutout to all the ladies that have gone through laboUr. I’ve heard it’s quite the inconvenience.
Also, I have thoughts about guys! (phrasing?)
Just noticed that ’85 Bears fullback Matt Suhey’s death was announced today. He wasn’t a player that I liked (was there anyone on that team aside from Payton that was likeable?) but back then he struck me as a selfless, hard-playing fella that always did what was asked of him. He was all of 68-the years are creeping up, folks.
Tua just received The One Week Seal of Approval by coach Kevin Stefanski, who knows subpar quarterbacking when he sees it. He’ll not commit to a starter for the second game of the season.
Players on the Don’t Get Your Hopes Up Squad: (these guys will get drafted but put a ‘whoa nellie’ on your expectations.
Tee Higgins:
It’s never a bad idea to grab the #2 WR on a high-scoring team (I drafted Reggie Wayne over and over again when Marvin Harrison was around) because you can get near #1 production at a significant discount-at least you could way back when. And that same thinking holds. However, Higgins only produced at a 90 yards per game clip when Ja’Marr Chase was injured. When his running mate was on the field Tee lost almost 30 yards per. Ouch. So yeeah, I had him in MATH HARD! and funny enough, I’ve never been past the 1st round of the playoffs.
Jake Ferguson:
Hey, why not get a piece of that potent Cowboys offense and not have to pay an arm and a leg for it? But there’s not enough balls to go around in Dallas with Lamb and Pickens there and a rejuvenated Davonte Williams on the field. One might say, “But he had 82 catches and 8 TD’s last year!” But take a look at his remarkable fade over the last five games of the season-only 12 grabs, 1 score and his yardage was 58, 16, 19, 6 and 5.
The Eagles Other Receivers:
Devonta is going to be a workhorse this year and hog them balls, I’m convinced. Dontayvion Wicks could never separate himself from Watson and Doubs in Green Bay and his yardage fell every year. As for the rook Makai Lemon, do you think he’ll thrive given Hurts’ limited passing ability? It’s not going to happen. And that Goedart guy is the one that gets the looks in the endzone.
Harold Fannin:
Most rankings have him as 5th or 6th which I think is crazycakes. I get it-he got tons of targets last year. But there’s a new OC, a really bad QB room and the fact that Cleveland drafted two WR’s, one at the bottom of the first and another near the top of the 2nd round. He may keep the momentum going but there’s a helluva lot of obstacles to overcome.
Feel free to tell me that the thinking is flawed or that you had a player you avoided like the Plague, er, Covid.
