NFL Notes:
- the Titans are kicking Eric Decker’s tires.
- Brent Griffith, who spent one year with the Bills in 1990, is being charged with insurance fraud over said AFC Championship ring.
- he had claimed it stolen, but was ratted out by his ex-wife who believes didn’t get her share.
- Number of fucks Mike Tomlin gives about Le’Veon Bell missing practice = 0.
- Michael Bennett wishes people would stop asking him about Richard Sherman & Russell Wilson.
Peter King, in an attempt to either contribute to, or sully, the word “journalist” has begun a column series called “Exit Interview“, where he interviews long-time beat reporters of, or team employees for, various football teams in the NFL. His first column is with & about Bob McGinn, who covered the Packers for 38 years. It reads like someone who wants to remember what it was like before becoming a shill.
I’m not sure if this McGinn quote about team media is a veiled shot at the Nugget Baron. I choose to believe so:
All these team websites are just a pox on our business. All the coverage is slanted. It’s all pro-team and the people who cover, who work for a network one way or another that is paying the league billions of dollars to broadcast games and be partners, everything they say I take with a grain of salt.
Finally, ESPN announced today that Saints superfan Jarrius Robertson will be the winner of the Jimmy V award at the ESPYs on July 12.
- “Robertson battles biliary atresia — a chronic liver disease that affects his physical growth. He has been in and out of hospitals since receiving a liver transplant when he was 1. At one point, he was in a coma for an entire year. He received a second liver transplant on April 30.”
- Hopefully Brett Favre can muster more enthusiasm in his applause.

Canadians get final pre-season CFL games this coming weekend. A two-game pre-season followed by an 18-game regular season? That’d never work in the NFL. FOUR PRE-SEASON GAMES ARE PRECIOUS FLOWERS!
