Dreams Like This Must Die (‘Everton, That’ Edition)

Yeah, it’s been a bad week.  There is no silver lining.  Reportedly, Everton only received minimal (or even ZERO) compensation from the Real Cuntfaces of Madrid.

Sure, Ancelotti (no MOAR affectionate nickname) will be lucky to survive the season at the Bernebau.  No, I don’t care whether I spelled it correctly, and ain’t gonna check.  It’s just a giant kick in the balls.

Those aforementioned Cuntfaces are likely also too skint to make a legitimate offer for sulky-assed Richarlison.  Just fuck everything already.

Baseball?  Can also eat my ass.  Two months until meaningless pre-season NFL gives one the will to live again.

In case you don’t know the song referenced by the title, here it is.  Always makes me weep, one of 3-4 songs that cut right to the bone re my most painful ex-girlfriend.

Anyway, talk amongst yourselves.  NEVAR forget that life is shit, and always will be.

As a knee problem expert surgery can help. Problem is the older you get the longer the recovery. If your knee is fucked according to basic kinesiology you will favor it and in turn fuck with different muscle groups.

Also, if you see a doctor not only will they attempt to take every fucking dollar you have they will refer you to physical therapy first so THEY can take as much of your money as possible.

It sucks and I hope you feel better soon.

Go Cubbies.

yeah right

My first injury was playing football in 1978. Right knee hyper extended. Three surgeries later… still kind of fucked but better. The left knee only required 2 surgeries but it’s doing great.

I guarantee there are men out there who spend more money on the soap they use to wash their cars than the soap they use to wash themselves.

I say that as someone who spends more money on dog shampoo than I do on Rikki shampoo.

Local Area Baseball Team’s cleanup hitter is batting .188. And about half of the team is under .220. And they’re not even in last place. I guess it’s been a pitcher’s year so far.

Mr. Ayo

The Mariners, an alleged pro team, is batting .208 as a team.

Only 5 players with more than 100 plate appearances are above the Mendoza line.

So I think your local Baseball Team is better.

1.5 out of first is not shitty, you JackO clone.

If they had relegation in MLB, and they should, the Pirates would be in a tball league. In last place.

I am making a crustless quiche, with leftover roasted potatoes and broccoli, green onions, and some pepperjack. I got the eggs from a farmers market. They have the most beautiful yolks, orangy yellow, like a sunset!

Dunstan

There’s a place that sells eggs like that at a farmer’s market that’s a little further away than the one I usually go to. I’m often tempted to make the special trip just for the eggs. I’m not sure if they actually taste any different, but they really do look remarkable.

Gumbygirl

I like to think they’re better, but who knows?

I love quiche so very much. I can only make it when youngest right is visiting though because her and I are the only ones who like it. If I made one for myself, well I would eat the entire thing and maybe in one sitting.

Which is why I only make quiche when youngest right is here.

Looking at Canada’s World Championship squad, you wouldn’t expect much from them because they might be one of the weakest Canadian team I have ever seen. So it was not surprising that they needed Germany’s last match against (I think Latvia) had to end in regulation for Canada to advance into the playoffs.

Despite all that, Canada is now in the finals.. I cannot believe THAT Canadian team beat a formidable Russian squad and an OK American side.

Last edited 3 years ago by Wakezilla
Dunstan

Hey, hey, hey — they’re not “Russian.” They’re not allowed to be called that, as punishment for Russia’s persistent cheating in international sports. So instead, they’re competing as “ROC,” which stands for… uh… Russian Olympic Committee.

Yeah, that’s a stern punishment. Was George Parros in charge of that ruling?

Wakezilla

Real Madrid and Barcelona both have coaches that once managed Disappointing Everton. I think we can all pen in Atletico for another La Liga title.

Track Observations-

  1. A young lady was jogging in a crop top and yoga pants. My first observation was “Oof!” My second? “The way her right foot swings out while her left foot is planted. Until she corrects that she can’t be a serious runner.” God, I’m old.
  1. Speaking of, old man was there again today. I shit you not. I have decided to call him ‘Shirtless Joe Jackson’ and this is his tune-

YES!!

scotchnaut

I’m guessing he weighs in at about 160. The thing that I really like about my “Arch* Enemy”? When he gets about 10 feet behind me he starts jogging and then stops when he’s about 15 yards ahead, thus precluding any chance of social interaction. Little does he know that the very most I would say to him is “hey”.

*pun intended

ballsofsteelandfury

Just went to me local track myself. Disappointingly, no yoga pants. I was the only one in the track. There were some kids practicing soccer but that was it.

When I go in the morning there’s a large-ish community of retired couples, single moms with kids (they let their young un’s goof around on bikes) and groups of teens that are just hanging out. In the afternoon the ‘serious’ folks show up.

Andrew Mangiapane’s nickname is “Mange” because 1) no one in the hockey community has any imagination whatsoever, and 2) he hopes to play for the Coyotes one day.

Dunstan

Yeah, 99% of modern hockey nicknames basically are the first syllable of the last name, with a “-y” or “-s” stuck on the end. Even most of the exceptions are predictable, e.g. anyone named Campbell is “Soupy.”

Canada takes it 4-2 and meets the winner of Finlandia/Germany in the final. This after starting the tourney 0-3. The U.S. has now lost 8(!) consecutive semi-final tilts.

/kudos to Senator Connor Brown, a slightly above-average defensive forward that has found a scoring touch seemingly out of nowhere. He led Ottawa in goals this year and is now leading all players in points in this competition.

Beerguyrob

Still can’t believe they won that game.

Connor Brown has always had the offensive touch. He just never got the ice time until this season with Ottawa.

Saddest songs, sweet and forlorn division: “There’s a Heartache Following Me”, the Pete Townshend version. I looked for the original, but prefer PT’s version for his inexpressive tone—perfect for the “I’m fine!” male posturing of the song.
