“Where The Bodies Are Buried” by Christopher Brookmyre. It’s a crime/mystery thingy taking place in Scotland and the dialogue between cops/cops and criminals/cops pops and crackles off the page-and that’s just the start. There’s detailed backstories, inter-departmental shenanagans and two slow-burning narratives that you know will intersect but it’s not obvious off the hop.
I just finished Razzmattaz. It was fun. I’m currently reading the Dying Earth books – it’s pretty neat stuff.
