Notes and Comments

First and foremost: Holy shit, GWS! I think we can safely say that was the team we expected at the beginning of the season. It was the early game on Saturday night and I hope y’all saw at least part of it. It was a thing of beauty.

Another thing of beauty was Geelong’s victory over Sydney. The Cats are looking real good as Sydney played pretty well. The top four at the moment are looking pretty solid.

Speaking of, Hawthorn got back on track with an important win over the Crows. They haven’t blown out many teams, but they’ve won plenty of close games. That’s important come finals time.

The upset of the week has to be Carlton beating Port Adelaide IN Adelaide. Carlton is still unbeaten since “firing” their coach. Sometimes, patience is overrated.

Finally, Fremantle is all alone at the top of the ladder. They are the real deal and could give Yeah Right the championship he’s been wanting since we all picked teams. I still feel bad that I convinced him to pick Fremantle over Melbourne and Melbourne shortly thereafter won the Premiership.

It was a rough week in the Tipping Contest for everyone not named Yeah Right. He is now in a tie with Spam and only separated by margin. Sharky is right behind them only 2 tips behind. Don’t forget to put the tips in!

If you are a member of an AFL club or you got a Watch AFL membership, you should be able to watch every AFL and AFLW game, including replays. Game times vary between Australian afternoon and evening, which actually makes it easier for us in North America to watch as the games can be seeing in the evenings on Pacific Time and early mornings on Eastern time.

If you haven’t become a member of a club or signed up for the Watch AFL app, you can still watch the AFL and AFLW games in the USA on either FS1 or FS2 and in Canada on TSN. Showtimes can be found here on the Australian Football Association of North America website. But I do recommend that you join a club. It’s fun and they send you free shit.
