What do you think about old punk and rock bands? Since rock and punk and metal, etc. Are a lot about rebellion and saying duck you to the man – can a punk, etc. group who is now in their 50s, kids, very wealthy, still actually do that? Or is it just a goddamn parody? Are they not now what they rebelled against? Rolling Stones are breaking their hips on stage. Has green day always been a bunch of poseurs or is this stuff now at middle age with kids in private school even worse? Or whatever they’re doing. They’re not fighting anything right? They are what they made their money flipping off. I should get some sleep.

First stage of Thanksgiving UNLOCKED!

I executed a flawless batch of cornbread that was just begging for something to sop it up with and also made a batch of 12 perfectly, cut, cooked and structurally perfect biscuits. Give me some sausage gravy to pour over that shit!

Biscuits. Delicious. I went on a high school rugby tour to Bellingham once and ordered biscuits and gravy with iced tea at a restaurant. Being Canadian I expected biscuits comma with gravy and sweet tea. I got a bowl filled to the brim with gravy which contained several small, saturated biscuits and a glass of unsweetened cold tea. I did not enjoy this.

The only bad thing about The Irishman is that it could be longer, but the problem is that it feels like the last time you talk to someone who’s lived such an amazing and tragic life. And once they’re gone, that’s it. That’s all gone.

But it also feels like someone making sure that what we take away isn’t just that the world they made was all tough guys and bad guys, but there was something genuine and heartfelt about what they did. They wanted to make things a little better for a hell of a lot of people. And if some people at the top killed each other to get it done, well, that’s the price we pay.

One if my favorite politicians went to prison for nearly a decade for mail fraud. However, he also spent his entire life fighting for the little guy and for his community. But he also knew that how you get things done isn’t exactly legal. Not always. But when you build a career on the law and what’s lawful and principled, then eventually you’re going to get nailed because the people trying to take them down have no problem using the law or using media when it’s to their advantage.

It’s hard to be right and legal 100% of the time. There’s a book about how we all commit three felonies a day. So at some point, so it’s not a matter of what but when.

And that the owners are billionaires and the players are only new millionaires. And with short career spans. That to me is the difference and why the other big sports leagues have guaranteed contracts. If a majority of your members would lose 1/4 or so of their career earnings by striking for a whole year, you’ll never have the leverage to beat 32 guys who could flush $100,000 down the toilet every day and not notice.

Looking at The 506 for this weekend, am I being cynical in thinking that CBS is capitalizing on dude getting conked in the head with his own helmet by showing Browns at Steelers rematch to 90% of the country?
