College World Series

Florida sweeps LSU two games to none in the best of three champs series to take their first National Championship.

True, they were the lesser of two evils.  But still, fuck off SEC.

As was so rudely pointed out to me last night (I’m looking at you Mr. Ayo … you’ll get yours, buddy boy), someone who actually knows how to pitch once again stole Ubaldo Jimenez’s uniform last night for the second time in his three starts since returning to the starting rotation.  Am I happy he’s had two very quality starts?  Of course.  Am I convinced he’s figured things out?  No freaking way, man.  I’ve watched this dude for too long.  His problems aren’t physical/mechanical.  His problems are between the ears.

Soooo Ubaldo, what happened in the start between those two aforementioned quality starts?  Yep, you guessed it.  And that’s what will happen next time too.  And the time after that.  Dude can’t get out of his own way.  At least not consistently.

FWIW, I’d love to be wrong.  Prove me wrong, Ubaldo.

But it’s not just Ubaldo or Baltimore.  Baseball this year, save for a small handful of teams, has just been subpar.  Frankly at this point, I’d be fine if they just get to it already once the All-Star Break gets here next week.  As in…..start the playoffs right after that…

First four teams to 50 get in.  Playoffs over by August.  Then Football.

Houston, LAD and AZD (holy shit…Arizona? Really?) are already in.  They can go ahead and rest pitching and not worry.

Colorado had the next best shot until they shat the bed this past week.  Washington is close but….Oh shit, sorry Washington, I forgot….

Sorry, Trea Turner, Nats’ fans, and also fantasy BB geeks.  Someone really should have warned you.
