- Adrian Peterson dislocated his shoulder in Monday Night’s loss to the Saints.
- There’s no word on the severity of the separation, nor whether it’s his beatin’ arm.

NBC got the League to pull out its flex pen early – Rams-49ers is off Sunday night on October 21, replaced by Bengals-Chiefs.

- Borrowing ESPN’s lede: George Taliaferro, who in 1949 became the first African-American player to be drafted by an NFL team, died Monday night at age 91.
He was drafted in the 13th round of the 1949 draft by the Bears, but instead chose to play for the LA Dons of the AAFC.
- Because that league folded after the 1949 season, Taliaferro joined the NFL in 1950.
- He played six seasons, with the New York Yanks (1950-51), Dallas Texans (’52), Baltimore Colts (’53-54) and Philadelphia Eagles (’55).

- Jim Irsay sobered up long enough to offer some poignant, cogent thoughts:
Rest in peace, George Taliaferro. Not only 1st African-American drafted into NFL, but also league's 2nd African-American QB. A trailblazer and true gentleman, George graced us with his presence at a recent home game. One of our last connections to pro football of the '40s/50s.
