Subsequent GTD reflections

Hello there fellow DFO’er.  Hope you’re well today.  And thanks for coming back to see last weeks tl;dr of last week as decided by my brain.  There’s no reason as to why some comments make it and others don’t. Seriously. There isn’t.

We’re trying out a new theme to see if that’s what’s causing the server issues.  The old theme was no longer supported, so bestest to be on something that is supported, but the server issues continue. Our crack group of admins is looking into this when they can.  There’s even been internet dad sightings in the back room, but he said something about needing to get milk, and left.  Shrugs.  Please continue to comment when you can as we continue to work on the systems.

As some of you may know, I still “play” lacrosse, the box style, not on a field.  As if I’m gonna run that far. Anyway, the team I’m on was in the championship game on Sunday and we won.  We started out slow, and were down 5-1 going into the third period.  We did a good jorb of limiting their shots in the third, and managed to put in 7 goals, for an 8-6 win.  We lost to that same team in the fall championship, so nice to be able to win against them. Not that you’d have any way to verify any of the above, but here’s the locker room shot with the trophy.  

Apparently a new plaque will be added for us.  Wooo.

I go away for a couple days and you’ve remodeled the place! Not sad like when my old room at mom and dad’s became the guestroom while I was away at school, but more like a new coat of paint and some fresh carpet for the den. All good and cleaned up all the spilled beer nuts.

I guess this what happens when you hardworking gerbils out there realized internet dad was never coming back from going out for smokes to do site maintenance?

Cleaning out the office this week. The trusty standby blue blazer and neutral colored tie finally comes home to the rest of the coats and ties in the wardrobe. This was always on my office coat rack in case I needed to suit up for some unannounced briefing, or visit. Selected because it would match just about any shirt and pants combinations I typically wore.

Holy shit folks I no longer need to consider that stuff … Just shorts,T-shirts and flip flops until October… Jeans and hoodies after that until May… Repeat… Forever…

Deadbeat retirement here I come.

I did some carb loading tonight! My stuffed pepper had rice in it, so naturally I put it on a baked potato. And then came dessert… this sounds gross, in a Paula Dean fattyfatass way , and it is, but hear me out: cut up a can of cinnamon rolls into quarters, mix that with a can of cherry pie filling. Bake till the rolls are completely done, drizzle the icing on top. Not gonna lie, it was delish in a white trash way!

So 2nd full day in Whistler and I did not expect to see Japanese school girls in there school uniforms. The Fairmont is hosting some sort of dance competion for teens and tweens and the older white guys trying to not even glance at them is hilarious. More makeup than a Lancome counter.

I have introduced my wife to Cheesies, she ate half the bag after drinking a bottle of sparking wine. She announced they are the greatest Cheetos ever, we will discuss later.

This is a very pet friendly hotel, the number of dogs and all the different breeds is astounding.

People are still skiing.

So far so good, BC THC is excellent.

blaxito had his appendix out Wednesday. Nothing had ruptured but it was inflamed and doctor’s like, “33% chance it will flare back up with in a year and then you got yourself a rupture/emergency in Hawaii with Hawaii healthcare and no jumping in the ocean recovery versus letting me snatch that bitch out in 20mins.”
So blessed be the people at the Children’s Hospital. The entire time we were there, all I could think was there’s no way there are enough resources for all these other families so give me my “Your insurance declined your son’s surgery” procedure and let me out of here.

But we’re dying now. He can’t move well yet but he’s got all his energy the secomd he wakes up. Long week, et al.
