Notes and Comments
It appears that the Saints’ amazing comeback against Melbourne has cost Simon Goodwin his job as Melbourne coach. This is on the heels, mind you, of the Demons winning their first Premiership since 1964 in 2021. And now we are in 2025 and the Demons will undoubtedly have to wait another 50+ years for another Premiership.
Too bad the Saints are out of it. They won again and are looking good for their traditional 10th to 12th place finish!
Western gave themselves a HUGE boost with their massive win over the Giants but they are still the ninth team trying to fit into 8 spots with only three games left. As for GWS, that was a really bad loss. Even BFC in Europe is saying, WTF?!?
Brisbane also pulled off an impressive win against Collingwood at the MCG. Everyone is overreacting as I’m not ready to write off the Pies just yet. They’ve had some injury issues lately and have been so far ahead of everyone that a drop in performance was expected. I do not expect this to continue in Finals.
Next week, we have a BIG game at the MCG as the Pies try to right the ship against Hawthorn. If the Pies lose again, then I’ll start thinking the critics are correct.
The Tipping Pool is crazy competitive! I thought I did great and then checked and saw that almost everyone did better than me. Shout-out to Litre for a perfect week of tipping! Sharky remains at the top with an excellent 8 of 9 performance. I wonder if he’ll get any inside tips in Australia…
If you are a member of an AFL club or you got a Watch AFL membership, you should be able to watch every AFL and AFLW game, including replays. Game times vary between Australian afternoon and evening, which actually makes it easier for us in North America to watch as the games can be seeing in the evenings on Pacific Time and early mornings on Eastern time.
If you haven’t become a member of a club or signed up for the Watch AFL app, you can still watch the AFL and AFLW games in the USA on either FS1 or FS2 and in Canada on TSN. Showtimes can be found here on the Australian Football Association of North America website. But I do recommend that you join a club. It’s fun and they send you free shit.
See you next week!
