The only reason the Yankees go after Harper is if they think they can make money off of marketing him. The OF right now is Hicks, Gardner, Ellsbury, Clint Frazier and Judge.
Hicks, Frazier, and Judge are all young and cheap. Gardner is good, 33, and not really that cheap. Ellsbury is old, not especially good and very expensive, so they’re not moving him to anyone without having to pick up a huge part of his contract. Their OF is set for years and they don;t need to pay $30-$40 million a year to add Harper to that group.

America really does need (at least) two thinking, functional parties. This needs fixin’ and right soon.
My theory is the Republican Party is going to splinter between the Hard Right and Centre Right. Centre Right will merge with Libertarians to create a new party.
Democratic Party will survive but will go further left.

As a more libertarian (more Johnson or Paul than to the anti-civil rights act purists) I think it’ll be exposed as just how few there really are. The tea party evangelicals hijacked libertarianism in their message (remember: “we’re going to open every bill with a legal description of why it fits the Constitutional authority of Congress.”?) and now it’s the hard righters who are using it as a thin veil of a valid third party who is not considered as vile/racist/hateful as many of Trump’s most loyal followers.
