Apologies for last week. I totally screwed the pooch on that one. Hopefully, this week makes up for it. Let’s get to it!

Notes and Comments
This week’s Game of the Week is the very first game: Geelong v Western. It’s the Bailey Smith Grudge Match / Revenge Game / Derby. Basically, Bailey Smith forced a trade last off-season away from Western to join Geelong. His old teammates have not forgotten. The game will be quite heated, especially considering both teams are currently tied on points and in the Eight.
One could make the argument that the REAL Game of the Week is actually Hawthorn v Brisbane. That’s the reigning premier, #2 in the ladder, versus the current #4 team. It’s at the MCG, so I’m sure there will be a huge crowd.
#1 Collingwood should steamroll the North Melbourne Kangaroos. The Pies are truly the class of the league and I don’t see them losing too many games the rest of the way.
West Coast finally got a win! This was against the Saints at home and I take back everything positive I said about the Saints earlier this season.
What the heck has happened to the Giants?!? Reeling doesn’t describe it anymore. This season is quickly going down the drain. They need to fix their problems ASAP.
I have somehow vaulted into first place! Granted, there are four of us tied for first place in points, but I’ve got the tiebreaker advantage on margin. I’ll take what I can get. Everyone else is not far behind at all, so it’s a very exciting contest!
If you are a member of an AFL club or you got a Watch AFL membership, you should be able to watch every AFL and AFLW game, including replays. Game times vary between Australian afternoon and evening, which actually makes it easier for us in North America to watch as the games can be seeing in the evenings on Pacific Time and early mornings on Eastern time.
If you haven’t become a member of a club or signed up for the Watch AFL app, you can still watch the AFL and AFLW games in the USA on either FS1 or FS2 and in Canada on TSN. Showtimes can be found here on the Australian Football Association of North America website. But I do recommend that you join a club. It’s fun and they send you free shit.
See you next week!

@horatio
That time when one player won the game.
Look, I watched every minute of that GWS game and don’t know what to tell you. They’ve had some injuries but that’s not it. They’re getting abused in the midfield and kicking like shit. Kingers might need to go full Mark Forward and start kicking some garbage cans because IT’S FUCKING EMBARRASSING
Garnacho looks extra punchable with that stupid hair dye. Christ, what an asshole.
The coda to Zouropa has kicked off!
I see that teh Yid Army done scored a football point!
Otherwise quite a dull affair. 9 shots, 3 on goal so far.
U2 is touring again?
who knew?
I was gonna put on the Zooropa final, but realized that I gave zero fucks.
As an Everton fan I thought you’d feel quite comfortable watching a slap fight between two inept teams
tuff butt FARE
I heard that this year it was supposed to be better by design.
You Balls, I have heard, in other news, that the tush push survived the vote. Speaking of tush…
“Tush push” is a little too cute for big tough football guys.
What about “Ass Blast” or “Gaper Raper” or something more befitting of men?
Feelings Destroyer
That right there…
Would we call a fake tush push the Taint Feint?
Damned with sorta praise?

That’s My Bombers!
At least with AFL they show some skin, lol
If the AFL were going to expand by two teams, in which markets would they be placed?
They are already expanding to Tasmania. Yes, they’re the Devils.
There’s talk of further expansion, but it’s not clear where.
Papua New Guinea!
It’s actually a shorter flight than the west coast for a lot of teams
Antarctica
There’s occasionally a push for Canberra and/or chatter of relocating GWS there.

BTW, the Tallratios are in PR, can confirm 😁
Sir Doug Nicholls Round woo! One of many awesome stuff that I would’ve never found out if not for DFO. Check out this beauty

Oh, they’re gorgeous this year! I’m thinking of getting one of the Geelong ones.
For those that have been to a game, what are the best seats to get? I’m looking at the Western Bulldogs vs. West Coast Eagles 8/17 at Marvel
BFC would be the best to ask, I think. He’s been to multiple games AFAIK.
I haven’t been to a game at Marvel but you have to weigh your considerations:
Shade vs sun
Do you want to be by your team’s supporters?
Is it more important for you to see the whole oval or be close to goal?
Happy to discuss in the back office but would recommend going to the Doggies subreddit and asking the folks there. Hell I contacted GWS directly and they gave me advice.
