Rogue One: I appreciate their details that advance the overall storyline but the film could have been an hour shorter and not included every generic ‘blockbuster’ film practices, including the sassy droid, forced inclusion of C3PO/R2D2, and, wurst if all, the on-screen identification of all those settings. I may be wrong but I don’t recall any Star Wars film ever just being like. “Here’s Planet X, it’s a rebel outpost!” I recall them being discussed in the script before the film takes me there.

That all said, it was a fine film but I don’t think I’m interested in anymore of these “A Star Wars Story” side tales. I’ll see where the Kylo Ren storyline goes but I think it’s safe to say at this point that Disney is doing with the franchise exactly what everyone knew they’d do with it.

Also, at fucking $10.50 per ticket, I’m gonna need a little more than some predictable Hollyweed “good guys were gonna disband but then they didn’t” and “bad guys are powerful but their weakness is their lack of emotion” plots.
