Got out on Friday right after work for a quick 9 holes. The first 4 or 5 were pars or boogies. Then the wheels fell off and was 3 putting for triple boogie. Still good to get out. The plan for this year is to try to be more consistent with my game, so slowing it down and doing the same things before each swing. Oh and to not practice, cause, like, whatever.

I didn’t call my mom for a week. Well, I called her, she never answers her phone.

I come into the house and go to give her a hug, and she gives me the “You’re dead to me” Italian mom stare.

So I give her a kiss anyway.

And say, “Well you’re shrinking but your nose is still huge.”

Watching a baseball game and the announcers are talking about never forgetting your first time at a major league park. Reminded me of when I took my son to his first game, and you can bet I made damn sure it was at Yankee Stadium, (the old one), and not that Fenway Park methadone replacement level stadium.

Anyway, we went inside and I circled way away from our seats because I knew if we came out on one of the upper levels in right field it would blow his 8-year-old mind. We walked out, (we were early), and he could see the entire field, the bleachers curving away to his right, the arches, and then three levels of seating looming over left field and 3rd-base.

His jaw hit his knees. It was awesome.

He told me years later he was expecting to see the Yankees play in the something like the Double-A stadium we’d been going to for years. Not quite, son, not quite.

I really want to know what that cow case was all about.

Been a busy week. Turns out I’m not all that good at writing production code yet, although I suspect I’m loads better at it than most people who have only been doing it for a few months. But anyway, I didn’t break anything important, the fixes were all quick and tiny (“I know ALL about quick and tiny” -D. Favre), I learned a lot, and everything got done on time so it’s all good other than me feeling like I should have done better and hoping I didn’t annoy people too much. Cheers to that!

Seeing a lot of “geez imagine if Biden was president omg lol” takes online, and the response to that is “we’d be much better off than we are today and VP Harris would be ready to take over” so I think those takes can fuck right off. Wifey and I are getting increasingly involved with our community center that services about 1,500 people. We just did a Mother’s Day pancake brekkie and that generated $2500. And now a valued member has passed away and the reception will be held in our building. Our task tomorrow? Making enough tuna and egg salad sandwiches for 300(!) mourners.

/the woman that runs the center insists that all sandwiches be on Wonderbread because this farming community might run away shrieking if they saw a sandwich on whole wheat or sourdough?
